It can be a little daunting buying eyewear online for the first time, so to assist in your choice, we have a policy of Buy/Try at home and return within 14 days (labels attached & unworn) if the frames you have chosen don't suit, just send them back to us.

How are glasses measured?
There are three measurements considered as ‘standard’ by the eyewear industry:
Example: 52-18-135
- The first one (52) is the lens diameter: the width of the lens in mm, measured from the bridge.
- The second one (18) is the bridge width, the gap above the nose and between the lenses
- The third one (135) is the length of the arms. There are three standard lengths: 135, 140 or 145mm.
As a guide, the width of the frames should not be wider overall than the width of your face at the temples.
TIP - measure the width of your current frame and then the lens height and width and compare both measurements with your chosen frame.
Do I need an optical prescription for reading glasses?
You don't need a prescription for reading glasses until you feel that the most powerful strengths are no longer working comfortably for you. Our ready- made reading glasses are made from high quality optical material and are available in strengths of +1.00 to +3.00 in most styles. If we don't have your reading strength in stock we can make lenses for you at a reasonable extra charge.
Can I have my optical prescription inserted into Retropeepers glasses?
All Retropeepers frames can be reglazed to your own prescription, whether it is a standard lens, multi focal or bi focal, with sun lens, anti-glare, anti-scratch etc.
When choosing frames for reglazing to your prescription, choose the ‘please send me a prescription quote’ option at the point of ordering or drop us a line.

Yes you can! Whilst only a few of our styles are available ready-made as sunglasses and sunglass readers; ALL of our frames can be glazed to sun tints at the percentage coverage you wish. Email us for a quote and more information.
Please note there is no return or exchange available on bespoke (glazed to order) frames.
